"Haiti: Then and Now" Welcomes Matthew Casey

Matthew Casey, PhD







Matthew Casey is Assistant Professor of History at the University of Southern Mississippi where he teaches courses on Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2012, he was co-winner of the Association for Caribbean Historians’ Ramos Mattei-Neville Hall article prize. His articles have appeared in the New West Indian Guide as well as an essay collection titled Haiti and the Americas. He is the author of Empire’s Guest Workers: Haitian Migrants in Cuba during the Age of U.S. Occupation, which is based on archival research conducted in Cuba, Haiti, and the United States and under contract with Cambridge University Press.
